5/13/2015: It was all about hill training (hills are my friend, repeat...)
From Joe R. "The run was awesome. All of the boys covered 4 miles! I think everyone ran their best yesterday, the cool temps and good hydration may have helped. Mile 2 turned into a real race for some. It was fun to watch. After mile 3 they crashed for a moment and we followed that up with sprints up and down the big hill. The final mile was 'slow and easy' with a much deserved break at the river. Many high 5s were shared and everyone tried their hand at rock skipping."

5/11/2015: Woo Hoo - we ran so fast that we beat the lighting storm!
The boys ran a total of 2.99 miles today. We worked on our hill climbing skills today and each runner concentrated on body position and pacing. It was cloudy, 94F with 100% humidity but the sun peaked through several times. The entire group seemed to be energized by the new BRIGHT yellow shirts and all cheered the "Girls-on-the-Run" Team as we passed on the Loop Road.

5/4/2015: Wow, freezing to 82F just like that!!
Our group has not run in weather this hot before but everyone did well. We all completed the first mile in 14:29 and several were able to complete the second mile in 12:25. Everyone finished the first two miles in under 30 minutes and we all took a much needed water break. The group split up for the final laps with some doing a total of 4 miles and some just over 3 miles. Harmony saved the day with popsicles for all - WHAT A TREAT!!

4/29/2015 - Mad River Path... 4 miles achieved!!
It was a beautiful day for a run by the water on the Mad River Path. Starting at the parking lot below Small Dog, we set up cones every 0.25 miles, going past the gazebo and ending just in front of the railroad tie steps. Several of the MVRG members were able to complete 4 miles and all managed smiles at completion (along with pumping fists and some "woop wooping")!
4/27/2015 - True Vermont Spring forecast: 46F and raining...
Joe and I chose to stay close to the school since it was raining on/off all afternoon. We were fortunate to have access to the field North of the school. We discovered that each loop was just shy of a half mile. So we did 5 loops alternating clockwise and anti-clockwise (counter clockwise to America) in hopes that the wind would be less. We did a total of 2.45 miles - the fourth loop was dedicated to Fartlek training (interval training with short, intense efforts followed by equal or slightly longer recovery time). Everyone did AWESOME!! NOTE: the colors in the loop indicate intensity (green = easy and red = hard).

4/15/2015 - First run on the Mad River Path: 3.66 miles!!
Although the Mad River Path was muddy in places, and there was snow in the shade, we had a great run along the river. It was sunny with temperature around 57.6F. Joe was able to capture the group in several places during the run. Notice all of the smiles??
4/13/2015 - Back on track: 3.45 miles!
The MVRG ran on the Loop Road again with sunny weather and 64.8F. Virtual high-fives were given to the Waitsfield Girls-on-the-Run as we passed each other at the Yellow Farm Inn.
4/6/2015 First run of the year - 2.73 total miles!
The MVRG met right after school and discussed the goals for the group while stretching. We all then ran from the school to Old County Road (Loop road to the locals) for our 2015 inaugural run. It was a cloudy day, temperature 55F, which was perfect.
